Agent Cody Banks Plot
Agent Cody Banks is a movie released in the U.S. on March 14, 2003 that
follows the adventures of 15-year-old Cody Banks (played by Frankie Muniz)
who has to finish his chores, avoid getting grounded, and save the world by
going undercover for the CIA. Hilary Duff (Natalie Connors), Angie Harmon (Ronica
Miles), Keith David (CIA Director), Ian McShane (Brinkman), and Arnold
Vosloo (Molay) are the co-stars. The film is directed by the norwegian
director Harald Zwart, known from such films as One Night at McCool's and
Hamilton.
Of note, this film was the first major motion picture project for Duff apart
from the film spinoff of her Lizzie McGuire TV series. The same can be said
for Harmon, who had just come off a three-year stint as Assistant D.A. Abbie
Carmichael on NBC's Law and Order.
The film is also interesting in that it showcases such cutting-edge vehicles
as the Segway and SoloTrek XFV.
To his family and friends, Cody Banks is a typical teen--he loves to
skateboard, hates math, and feels like a complete idiot around girls. But
Cody's got a secret--he's actually part of a secret teen CIA program. Cody's
living every boy's dream life--he can drive like a stuntman, has an
incredible arsenal of cool gadgets, and his agency mentor, Ronica Miles, is
totally hot. But Cody's training is put to the test when he's sent to pose
as a prep school student and befriend fellow teen Natalie Connors in order
to gain access to her father Dr. Connors. Dr. Connors is a scientist
unknowingly developing a fleet of deadly nanobots for his project's
benefiter...the evil organization ERIS, led by Dr. Brinkman and his henchman
Francois Maloy. From runaway cars and high-speed snowboard chases to a
spectacular final mountaintop showdown, Cody has to use everything he's
learned to prove himself as an agent and stop ERIS from completing their
mission--and, maybe, even get the girl.
A sequel, Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London, was released the following
year.
The WB Television Network aired the movie on Monday February 20, 2006 at
8:00pm EST/PST
The WB edited the film for time, so 17 minutes of the original feature
length film was cut.
