A Man
Apart Trivias
A lawsuit was filed by Blizzard Entertainment, a computer game company,
creator of the Diablo computer game series, arguing they had trademarked the
title Diablo and intended to make a movie based on their game. Initially the
ruling was favorable to Blizzard, but this was later overturned.
In Brazil, as well as Greece, the movie was advertised as O Justiceiro and O
Timoros respectively, which is the same name by which the Marvel Comics'
"The Punisher" character is published in those countries.
When Sean and his group get in the silver car to leave the plane hanger, the
car has a temporary license sticker in its rear window. When the car pulls
out of the hanger, the temporary sticker is gone and there is a proper
license plate where one should be.When Vetter goes into Lucero's cell and
lights his cigarette, we hear the clink of a zippo-style lighter, but see a
flame that is obviously that of a disposable lighter.
The scene where Sean (Vin Deisel) beats the dealer to death was cut by seven
seconds. The original scene featured the dealer spitting out teeth and
bloody pieces from his cheek. The scene was cut in order to get the R rating
and not NC-17.
As Sean starts up the stairs to the 2nd floor of the old cantina towards the
end of the film, you can see a crew member moving a light reflector in a
mirror on the left side of the frame. This is fully visible in the
widescreen print, but appears only as a moving light in the full screen
print.
During production, a lawsuit was filed by computer game company Blizzard
Entertainment, creator of the Diablo (1996) (VG) computer games. They argued
that they had trademarked the title "Diablo" and intended to make a motion
picture based on their game. The case was briefly ruled in favor of
Blizzard, but was quickly overturned.
Shadow of Camera is visible on Memo Lucero's taxi towards the beginning of
the film.Vetter's Dodge truck clearly blocks Jack's Porsche preventing him
from leaving, although later in the scene it is backed up giving plenty of
room for Jack to leave.
