A Love Song for Bobby Long Plot
A Love Song for Bobby Long is a 2004 independent film based on the novel by
Ronald Everett Capps . It was directed and adapted to screenplay by Shainee
Gabel. It stars John Travolta, Scarlett Johansson and Gabriel Macht amongst
others.
Tagline: The heart is a lonely hunter.
Purslane Will (Johansson), a girl in her late teens, returns to her hometown
of New Orleans, Louisiana after the death of her mother. Expecting to find
her mother's house empty, she is surprised to encounter two men who have
taken residence, Bobby Long (Travolta) and his protege, Lawson Pines (Macht).
They are forced to live together, and as time goes by, they realize how
connected their lives really are.
