Afshan Azad (born 12 February 1988) is a British actress.

Afshan Azad is best known for playing Padma Patil in the Harry Potter films. She got the part when casting agents visited her school, and after several auditions, was chosen for the part. She auditioned for the role just for the fun of it.

Currently living in Manchester she is a Muslim, and a second-generation Bangladeshi. Afshan and her co-star Shefali Chowdhury became very close after their acting in Goblet of Fire. Nineteen-year-old Afshan is also an A-level student studying Chemistry, English and Media Studies at Xaverian College and has just taken her AS level exams.
